A key state-owned enterprise directly managed by the central government, my country Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) is the main force in China's military electronics industry, the national team for cybersecurity and information technology, and a national strategic scientific and technological force. It is directly supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. Established on February 25, 2002, CETC is a large state-owned enterprise group formed on the basis of electronic research institutes and high-tech enterprises formerly under the Ministry of Information Industry. CETC possesses a relatively complete technological innovation system in the field of electronic information, particularly holding a leading technological position in electronic equipment, cybersecurity and information technology systems, industrial foundations, and network security. The company shoulders the important responsibilities of supporting technological self-reliance, promoting national defense modernization, accelerating the development of the digital economy, and serving the people's livelihood. CETC has over 700 enterprises and institutions, including 47 national-level research institutes and 17 listed companies, with more than 200, 000 employees, 55% of whom are R&D personnel. The background of CETC's establishment can be traced back to the multiple institutional adjustments after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. It was finally established as China Electronics Technology Group Corporation in 2002, and completed its corporate restructuring in 2017, changing its name to China Electronics Technology Group Corporation Limited. In 2021, the company completed the integration of China Potevio Information Industry Group Co., Ltd., further enhancing its overall strength.
